We found a way to breakdown and manufacture roofing blocks, for the crystal dome.
Unlike traditional breakdowns, rhombuses do not taper to the top, and they are almost the same size. According to classical technologies, a roofing block is either narrowed to the top, making a pointed bulbous dome, or breaking the dome into “mandarin lobules”, making dividing strips / overlays.
But my breakdown is also not without flaws – there are a lot of sizes that require preliminary calculation. But on the other hand, this is solved at the design stage, after which the drawing is printed, on a printer, on a scale of 1: 1, and cutting is done, and production is done in advance. This is in contrast to the traditional method, when each subsequent row is measured out already in place. Therefore, there are a lot of standard sizes.
